South Shore softball wrap-up: May 7

South Milwaukee lost two games to weather last week, but none on the field, winning twice.

Aly Pinkos allowed two hits in a 10-1 victory at Racine Horlick on May 1.

Amanda Desotell had three hits and scored three runs, Rebecca Desotell had two hits and scored twice, and Hannah Chojnacki drove in two runs for the Rockets, who broke the game open with six runs in the fifth.

On April 29, Amanda Desotell had two hits and two RBIs, and Amanda Blochowicz allowed two hits and struck out six on as the Rockets beat visiting New Berlin West, 3-1.

Cudahy

Sam Homa struck out 11 in throwing a one-hitter as Cudahy beat visiting Whitnall, 4-0, in a Woodland Conference game April 28.

Tanya Schwartz drove in two runs for the Packers, who scored once in the first, twice in the second and once in the sixth.

Schwartz scored twice and drove in a run in the Packers' 5-3 Woodland victory at Pewaukee on April 30. The Packers broke a 2-2 tie with two runs in the fifth.

On April 27, Alyssa Damitz scored four runs and the Packers held visiting Brown Deer to two hits in a 9-1 victory.

Cudahy entered this week at 7-1 in the Woodland and 8-1 overall.

 

St. Francis

St. Thomas More scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to hand the visiting Mariners an 8-7 Woodland Conference loss April 28.

Amanda Sherbarth scored two runs for the Mariners, who held a 6-0 lead after 1 ½ innings.

On May 1, the Mariners, who began this week at 0-6 in the Woodland and 0-7 overall, had one hit and lost at New Berlin West, 12-1.
