What can you do to increase your child's connection to school?
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO INCREASE YOUR CHILD'S CONNECTION TO SCHOOL ?
Join your school's Parent-Teacher Association
A great way to learn more about your school, get connected with parents and get involved is to join the PTA. Parent groups pay an important role in building the kind of supporting school invironment where teachers and students alike can do their best work. The parent group can be a terrific source of information about your school and community too.
Students do best when parents and teachers work together as partners
Talking with your child about school is a simple but key first step. Find out about his likes and dislikes at school, what comes easy and what doesn't, things that make him uncomfortable or stressed. The more specific your questions, the more likely you are to get a real answer.
